A Draft Script

One of my fire hall mates, who has a background in film, video and screen-writing, has offered his services and has even written a draft script for "the best job in the world". Hmmm ... needs a tad of a re-write, IMHO ... have a read.

Fire Hall Mate Offers Video & Script-writing Help

One of the radio operators at the fire hall has done a fair bit of video work and he was kind enough to offer his expertise. He even wrote a draft script, offered to film the video and put it together.

On one hand, that's great!

On the other hand ...

FADE IN

EXT. YARD - DAY (Scott talking to Camera)

SCOTT - "Hi my name is Scott Kimler"

CUTTO: SIGN - "Scott".

NARRATOR (VO Spanish accent - with echo) - "Scott"

CUTTO: SIGN - "Kimler"

NARRATOR (VO Spanish Accent - with echo) - "Kimler"

EXT. YARD - DAY (Scott to camera)

SCOTT - " There are three reasons why I should get the best job in the world."

CUTTO: SIGN - "#1"

NARRATOR (VO Spanish Accent - with echo) - "NUMERO UNO"

CUTTO: Scott

SCOTT - "Number one. Preparation."

CUTTO: Scott's hand with sun-block.

SCOTT (VO) - "Sun-block"

CUTTO: Scott putting on diving mask and speaks through the mask.

SCOTT - "I'm dive certified."

CUTTO: Scott placing some sunglasses on his face and looks cool.

SCOTT - "Shades are crucial."

UTTO: Scott doffs an Australian bush hat but with the flat side to front. Scott looks up to the hat.

SCOTT (questioning) - "Is this thing on right?"

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "And I've been working on the language."

(Scott concentrates and pronounces slowly and wrongly)

SCOTT - "KRIII, KEY"

CUTTO: SIGN - "NUMBERO DOS"

NARRATOR (VO - SPANISH ACCENT - ECHO) - "Numbero Dos"

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "I've been a tourist all my life. In fact we have an on going blog about our adventures ..."

CUTTO: SIGN - PAN OF WEB SITE

SCOTT (VO) "... which draws over fifty thousand unique visitors a month."

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "I cycled across the U.S.A. from ... "

CUTTO: SIGN - DRAWN BIKE IMAGE - right orientated.

SCOTT (VO) "West to east"

CUTTO: SIGN - DRAWN BIKE IMAGE - Left oriented.

SCOTT (VO) - "East to west."

CUTTO: SIGN DRAWN BIKE IMAGE - Top orientated.

SCOTT (VO) - "and north to south."

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "Just as a note. I've walked across America as well."

CUTTO: SIGN - "NUMERO TRES"

NARRATOR (VO - SPANISH ACCENT - ECHO) - "Numbero Tres"

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "OK. Hears the deal. I can sing."

CUTTO: (Scott different location. Scott delivers single operatic styled note)

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "Well, sorta, but I can dance."

CUTTO: (Scott different location. Scott does a two-step)

CUTTO: Scott.

SCOTT - "Well, kinda, But the most important thing of all. I can tell a good story."

CUTTO: (Scott with Alex listening raptly to Scott telling her a story.)

SCOTT - "And then when we were hiking the pacific coast trail. I fought a bear. A grizzly bear."

ALEX - "Daddy, is that true?"

SCOTT - "Mostly".

CUTTO: (Scott wrestling a Grizzly bear.)

NARRATOR (VO) - "Remember Scott Kimler, the best man for the best job in the world."

FADE OUT

In other news, I'm swamped with web-work suddenly (www.lklaw.ca wants their new website deployed next week and www.ncid.bc.ca wanted their Improvement District site updated) AND I've caught Alex's cold. Been a tad on the "who's got time, can't be motivated" side of things, lately.

Well, all I can say is I'll buy a ticket to the premier of this epic production with an air of subdued anticipation. :)
Spanish!! Where did that come from?

Tickets will be inexpensive and the pain will only last 60 seconds! :D

I have no idea @ Spanish. I'm re-writing the epic, as we 'speak'.
